Project Sashaktikaran - II

The Sashaktikaran - II means Empowerment is the second phase project supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation of the UK. The project is being implemented in the Mohammad Bazar Block of Birbhum District, which will be completed in 2026. The project is working with more than 20000 tribal people on community-driven development (CDD) through the implementation of micro plans with GPDP inclusion, strengthening local governance and ensuring natural resources management.

Core Focus

The Shashaktikaran - II (Empowerment) project aims to build the Adivasi Communities' ownership of natural resources, development works, and panchayat funds. To create such ownership, CSRA is working on building the community's subject-specific knowledge and capacity to analyse, plan, and implement on their own in collaboration with key stakeholders like the Panchayat and Government. The project has three major components: Strengthening Local Governance, Water Resources Management, and Promotion of Climate-Resilient Agriculture Practices.
