About CSRA
The CSRA was established in the year 2000 by a group of social workers and academicians at Visva Bharati University. It works on community development and participatory assessment, which is actually backed by its social research interventions. It aims to improve the status of lives of marginalised people through community-driven sustainable development through intensive community mobilisation, information, capacity building, training, technical support and institutional linkage. The vision of the organisation is to establish a healthy and socio-economically empowered society that lives its lives fully with prosperity and equal opportunities.
STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK
2021 - 2025
As per SECC Data of 2011, more than 60% of rural people are in different forms of deprivation in West Bengal & Birbhum District. Gender inequality remains a key challenge. Climate damage impacts are seriously affecting communities in coastal and dry land areas. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 needs a shift in approach, increased funds, and collaboration to counter inequalities and poverty.
On the above backdrop, CSRA has developed a strategic framework of 2021 - 2025 in recognition of the following future trends that will shape our rural society over the next five years.
